Hill Country Memorial’s popular soup stand returns each season to the Fredericksburg Farmer’s Market.
HCM began a special collaboration with the Fredericksburg Farmer’s Market in 2013. Farmers Market founders asked HCM Nutrition Services Director John Phelps to develop a way for the hospital to participate at the Farmer’s Market using seasonal market fare and to demonstrate ways to create healthy recipes. Every Thursday HCM serves up a delicious Farmer’s Market soup made from local produce. The soup recipes change weekly, and market visitors line up for samplings and recipes.
Enjoy live music at the market, and expect to find a variety of in-season vegetables, wood-fired pizza, homemade peach pies and grass-fed beef.
