In October 2017, Hill Country Memorial Home Care was named a 2017 HomeCare Elite™ organization for the twelfth consecutive year. The HomeCare Elite designation recognizes the top 25 percent of Medicare-certified home health care agencies in the nation.
To earn this recognition for more than 10 years reflects the Hill Country Memorial Home Care team’s ongoing commitment to the long-term health of the community and the region.
To determine the top organizations, HomeCare Elite examined publicly available data from more than 9,000 home care agencies in 2017.
In order to be considered, a home health care agency must be Medicare-certified, meaning that the agency is approved by Medicare and meets certain federal health and safety requirements.
An agency must also have data for at least three categories in Home Health Compare, a program administered by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Home Health Compare compiles information about the quality of care provided by home health agencies throughout the nation that allows individuals to compare home health agencies.
The HomeCare Elite program was developed by ABILITY® Network and sponsored by DecisionHealth to examine quality of care, quality improvement, patient experience, and process implementation.
