As an organization that empowers people to create healthy in their lives, Hill Country Memorial offers the following free support groups for the community.
The Cardiac Support Group meets the first Thursday of every month in the Learning Center (first floor of the hospital). The group is open to anyone in the community interested in maintaining heart health. A light, heart-healthy lunch is provided. The meeting and lunch are free, though donations are accepted to help cover the cost of food. Call (830) 997-1358 for more information.

The Alzheimer's & Dementia Support Group meets the first Tuesday of every month in the second-floor conference room of the Brune Building. The group is led by social worker Brook Bodenhamer and is open to caregivers of those with Alzheimer’s or dementia. Call (830) 997-1335 for more information.

Living with Loss is a free bereavement support group for anyone who has suffered any kind of death or loss. Support groups usually meet for six weeks, and participants are encouraged to attend all sessions.

Hill Country Memorial Wellness Center hosts a support group for anyone who is trying to quit smoking. Meetings are held Wednesdays from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. at the Wellness Center. Please contact Dawn Sparrow at 830-997-1355 to register.
The Sleep Apnea Resource Group connects people with the tips and tools they need to treat their sleep apnea on the second Tuesday of each month.
Hill Country Memorial sleep technologist Theresa Cochran and other experts host a roundtable discussion about the obstacles in committing to treatment for sleep apnea, including the challenges in using positive airway pressure masks successfully, equipment maintenance tips, and social and emotional issues. Additionally, Cochran and HCM technologists inspect masks and equipment and demonstrate the proper use. To RSVP, call (830) 990-6649 and leave a message including your name and phone number.
