The HCM Thrift Shop started with 16 volunteers in 1994. Today the Thrift Shop could not function without our 46 person volunteer workforce. The Volunteers help with sorting, tagging, pricing, displays, putting out donations or manning the cash register. We have openings in all areas and welcome new volunteers anytime. We also assist other non-profits in the area with items or opportunities for serving the thrift shop. We would like to remind everyone that HCM accepts donations of re-sellable items for the thrift shop including knick knacks, clothing, furniture, tools and so on. For further inquiries about volunteering or to schedule a pick up please call (830) 997-7688.
Our HCM Thrift Shop has very loyal volunteers who enjoy the flexible schedules at the Thrift Shop. Manager Dayton Land appreciates the dedication the volunteers have to the cause. One such volunteer is Eunice Gary. She and her husband, Bill, have worked at the Thrift Shop for 20+ years. Eunice also works weekly at the reception desk at Hill Country Memorial Hospital. Eunice was recently named the Second Quarter MVP for Thrift Shop and was also the recipient of the True North Award at the Hospital. Dayton bragged on her, that she is the type of volunteer anyone would want – she is committed, reliable, and has a passion for what she does. Congratulations, Eunice!
